☆To First-Time Guests☆
Our treatments are performed thoroughly with the goal of alleviating your symptoms.
After your treatment, you may experience some soreness in the muscles and bones we’ve worked on—this is sometimes a natural defensive reaction of the body. Please rest assured that this discomfort usually subsides within 2–3 days, or at most within a week.
To help you relax during your session, we would appreciate it if you could bring a “towel” and “change of clothes” with you when coming from home.
We do not sell multi-session passes or supplements.
We are dedicated to providing comfortable treatments tailored to each individual client.
We highly recommend our 60-minute full-body course to identify the causes of overall fatigue and discomfort.
After your treatment, you’ll feel lighter physically and refreshed mentally.
We do not schedule appointments for your next session so that you can visit at your own pace.
If you’re satisfied with your experience, please feel free to visit us again.
Our entire staff looks forward to welcoming you.
1. “KATAKORI-NO-MISE” is a specialty salon dedicated to alleviating physical discomfort, particularly stiff shoulders.
We are especially known for our unique, hands-on massage techniques.
2. “Human Structural Science,”
the Foundation of Our Techniques
Here, “Human Structural Science” refers to the study of the human body’s structure. Specifically, it encompasses
the following four elements:
- Skeletal System: The arrangement and function of bones and joints.
- Muscles: The arrangement, movement, and flexibility of muscles.
- Nerves: The pathways through which signals are transmitted from the brain to the body; they are involved in pain perception and movement control.
- Internal Organs: The organs inside the body that affect overall health.
3. The Importance
of Each Element
- The skeleton serves as the body’s foundation and is a crucial element in supporting proper posture and movement.
- Muscles are responsible for enabling movement and are particularly relevant to areas that cause stiff shoulders.
- The nervous system controls muscle movement and the ability to perceive pain, and requires proper care.
- The internal organs also affect overall health; in particular, stress and poor posture can impact their function.
4. Development
of Manual Massage Techniques
At “KATAKORI-NO-MISE,” based on the knowledge of “Human Structural Science” described above, we have developed a unique massage method that takes into account the balance of the skeleton, muscles, nerves, and internal organs.
This technique was devised to effectively alleviate stiff shoulders and other physical discomforts.
5. Specific Treatment Methods
- Skeletal Adjustment: By correcting misalignments and restricted movement in the spine and joints, we improve muscle tension and maintain the balance of nerve transmission.
- Muscle Relaxation: By relieving muscle tension, we promote the flow of arterial blood into the capillaries, thereby reducing stiffness and pain.
- Nerve Care: We resolve nerve compression and dysfunction caused by spinal misalignment. We also promote the improvement of autonomic nervous system imbalances.
- Visceral Adjustment: By understanding the internal organs, hormonal balance, and blood circulation, and supporting visceral function, we improve the body’s internal conditions and enhance the effectiveness of the massage.
6. Benefits
of Massage
At “KATAKORI-NO-MISE,” we provide hands-on massage techniques that comprehensively incorporate these elements.
This technique is effective not only for relieving stiff shoulders but also for treating and improving the entire body.
The human body is classified into four functional structural elements:
“skeleton,” “muscles,” “nerves,” and “internal organs.”
These elements are closely interrelated and work in tandem to influence all symptoms, such as stiffness, pain, numbness, and discomfort.
For example, muscle stiffness and pain cannot be resolved simply by massaging the muscles. If there are misalignments in the spine or joints, these misalignments can compress nerves, potentially causing pain or numbness.
Furthermore, when internal organ function is impaired or blood flow is poor, this can affect muscles and nerves, leading to physical discomfort.
Thus, the field of study that examines how the body’s four structural components—the skeleton, muscles, nerves, and internal organs—change and interact with one another is called “Human Structural Science.”
Unlike general medical diagnosis and treatment, this approach focuses on the body’s structure itself, with the goal of restoring balance and function. Therefore, correcting misalignments in the spine and joints is crucial for alleviating stiffness, pain, and numbness.
Furthermore, it is necessary to improve nerve transmission in compressed areas, promote internal organ function, and enhance blood circulation.
By comprehensively assessing these factors and applying appropriate treatments and manual techniques, we aim to achieve fundamental improvement in symptoms.
Muscles, nerves, and joints have extremely delicate structures.
In particular, muscle spindles—which contain a high concentration of sensory nerves—are found in large numbers at the points where muscles attach to bones and are a major cause of stiffness and pain.
Treating these areas requires a high degree of precision; even a 1-millimeter misalignment in finger placement can drastically alter how stimulation is transmitted, significantly reducing the effectiveness of the treatment.
At KATAKORI-NO-MISE, drawing on theories based in human anatomy and years of clinical experience, we precisely identify the exact point that truly needs to be released and perform treatment using our finger techniques.
Rather than applying force blindly, we prioritize using the sensitivity of our well-trained fingers to apply only the minimum necessary and optimal amount of stimulation to the precise location.
It is precisely because we pay such close attention to even the slightest deviation of our fingertips that the body responds correctly, leading to dramatic changes.
Our clinic does not sell session passes.
Generally, session passes are often perceived as a “cost-effective option.”
However, from the perspective of a practitioner, we believe that session passes do not necessarily foster a healthy relationship.
While using a multi-session pass offers financial benefits,
it tends to diminish our “gratitude for your visit” and
“the sense of dedication required for each individual session” tend to fade.
As a result, the relationship can easily become one based solely on conditions rather than the value of the treatment, and
it becomes difficult for the practitioner to maintain the respect and focus that should naturally be present.
Work that involves touching the body with one’s hands is not merely about providing a technical service.
The practitioner’s awareness, posture, and precision of sensation directly influence the body’s response.
We believe that only when both parties hold mutual respect and share a sense of gratitude,
can the treatment’s true potential be fully realized.
At KATAKORI-NO-MISE, we wish to welcome all our clients not based on “price,” but as
“people who value each individual treatment session.”
For this reason, we do not offer multi-session passes.
We perform treatments for everyone with the utmost respect.
At the same time, we hope to build long-lasting, quiet relationships of trust with those who understand the value of our services.
